Ten years after riding out of the small kingdom of Galitia, its brutal young king Andras has achieved the unimaginable and vanquished the continent of Ostria. His ruthless dominance over his foes has earned him the chilling moniker ‘The Demon of Galitia’.
With the final kingdom, Jortrel, conquered, its nobles bow before Andras, offering him their allegiance and treasures. Instead of gold, jewels, and silk, the impoverished Duke of Tyrese presents his daughter Korbela as tribute. Korbela intrigues Andras, and he accepts her as his possession, to be wielded as he pleases.
Though Korbela dutifully embraces her role as Andras’s possession, she embarks on a perilous game to undermine him and sway him to depart from Jortrel. To her astonishment, she discovers that Andras is not the thoughtless tyrant she had believed him to be, but a man of intricate intelligence, capable of both tenderness and ferocity. Beneath the facade of dominance, she encounters a solitary soul locked in battle with a demon, triggering moments of extreme cruelty that leave Andras tormented by remorse.
Andras begins to revel in Korbela’s presence. He finds fascination in her unambiguous challenges, as she becomes the sole individual in his life without ulterior motives. As Andras delves deeper into Korbela’s world, he increasingly relies on her for emotional sustenance as he grapples with the transition from war to peace and the responsibilities of governing an empire.
Before long, Andras realizes that he cannot exist without Korbela, and a remarkable bond forms between them, binding them together for eternity.

Andras confidently walked into the large throne room, a throne room dedicated to the vanity of a conquered dynasty. His black armour gleamed malevolently, his red cloak flowing behind him, contrasting with his blond hair. His cold blue eyes stared straight ahead. The scar running down his cheek gave him an added appearance of malevolence. Soldiers from his conquering army stood to attention on either side of him creating a guard of honour. All that stood against him were defeated. Kings, heroes, assassins, alliances. They all failed. None could match his power and guile. Any hope that could stop him was extinguished. Each victory brought him more power and more people subjugated themselves to him. Those who didn’t were executed in the most brutal way possible. Andras enjoyed their screams as they were dismembered alive. At just 32 years old he achieved something no one in history had. He conquered the whole of the continent of Ostria. A brilliant ten-year campaign of fear, subterfuge, and brutality.
Andras sat on the throne. The jewel-encrusted, golden crown was brought to him and placed on his head by his grand vizier Melchom signifying the completion of his conquest. This was the end of freedom and Andras’s total control of the continent. His ambition was fulfilled. They said he was evil, they called him the Demon King of Galitia. Now none dared to call him this.
Andras stood with his head adorned with the crown, Melchom bellowed theatrically,
“All hail his Imperial Majesty, Emperor Andras! Ruler of all Ostria, King of the heavens and the underworld! Kneel before him and show your obedience to your new emperor!”
